2008 FARM EVENTS
Dr. LaRue Johnson Seminar
March 8-9, 2008
The Sunday clinic will consist of 6
hours of lecture and 90 minutes of wet lab for each registrant.
The lecture will cover reproductive anatomy and physiology, breeding and
pregnancy diagnosis options, gestational development, care of the
pregnant dam, normal and abnormal criation and care of the newborn as
well as the high risk cria.
The lab, using donated dead crias and uterine
simulators, will challenge registrants to diagnose the contents of the
uterus, discuss a proposed delivery plan and deliver the cria.
On Saturday, there will be three hours of nutrition
before lunch along with other 1-hour presentations that may include the following
topics:

An Ethics Exercise for Camelid Breeders

Camelid Herd Health

Camelid Skin Conditions

Camelid Lameness Conditions
Lunch will be provided by Hiben Hollow. The
cost of the seminar is $200/person or $300/farm couple.
